Rodger and Ginny are based in Kijabe, Kenya. Rodger is practicing and teaching as an Anesthesiologist and an Intensivist at the AIC Kijabe Hospital. Ginny is the Serge team leader at Kijabe and works in the hospital's Infection Control Department.Rodger and Ginny met at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and were married in 1980. They have a married daughter (one granddaughter) and a son. They have been involved in short-term medical missions for many years, but several short-term trips to Kijabe, beginning in 2009, led to their recognizing an internal and external calling to full-time overseas work.Ginny served at Serge HQ for 7 years. She and Rodger often tell people that Ginny's last assignment as a missionary recruiter was to sign up herself and her husband. Rodger's career in academic medicine (Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine) culminated in a 12-year stint as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Temple University School of Medicine. They consider it a joy and a privilege to be able to serve in rural Kenya.
