Andrea has always been interested in other peoples and cultures and first became involved with missions through various trips and ministries in high school. She served as an intern with Serge in Nairobi, Kenya in 2015 and loved seeing God move and work in other areas of the world and in her heart as she considered further work overseas. From there, God led her and her husband Jack to serve with the Serge Nairobi team from January 2019 to June 2021.

While serving in Nairobi, Andrea coached and discipled youth and adults through soccer with Ambassadors Football Kenya. Since returning, Andrea has taken a new position as Language and Culture Coach for Serge missionaries in Sub Saharan Africa. Her experiences in Kenya opened her eyes to the need for language assistance and support for missionaries, and how language learning is a ministry unto itself, connecting local people to the gospel in their heart language.

Andrea seeks to help missionaries as they walk through language learning and cultural acquisition. This process includes setting language goals, providing resources, and developing language learning strategies. It is a joy to encourage and equip missionaries through their language learning journey. Andrea’s desire is to see the gospel proclaimed in the heart languages of the people of Sub-Saharan Africa that Serge missionaries are serving.

Andrea and Jack are both Covenant College graduates and currently live outside of Charlotte, NC where Jack is enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary. They are eager to continue serving the church and see how the Lord uses their heart for missions in the future.
