Jessica is a member of the Serge Nagoya team, working to support Japanese church planters, pastors and their wives, to see these national leaders and their churches flourish and multiply. She has served in Japan since November of 2019, initially working with the local seminary, Christ Bible Institute (CBI). Her work of strengthening CBI's connection with another local ministry, Life Hope Network, and her service at an established church plant, All Nations Fellowship (ANF), are how God revealed His call for long term missions in Japan.

Throughout her time in Japan, Jessica has been a part of supporting and connecting with national leaders and helping their evangelistic efforts. She has come alongside her pastor and his family in their community outreach, served regularly as a worship leader and occasional interpreter at ANF, and walked with national believers for mutual encouragement and discipleship. She also engages in personal outreach, seeking to love and encourage Japanese women and share the hope of the gospel of Christ in their mutual struggles.

God saved Jessica as a child living with her family overseas in Micronesia. Her parents are Catholic, and encouraged their children to have a personal relationship with Christ and read the Bible by sending them to Sunday schools and youth programs at a variety of Christian churches. She remembers much of her spiritual growth coming after they moved to Texas, where she joined a local Bible study as a teenager. Her interest in Japan grew after a couple of home-stays with Japanese families at 15 and 17, and she studied Japanese for two years in college.

Jessica graduated with a B.A. in Art from the University of Houston in 2012. Through personal study and the Holy Spirit’s guidance, she decided to make the switch from Catholicism in 2013, to a reformed non-denominational church called Redeemer Church in Tomball, TX. The Lord continued to mature and prepare her for cross cultural ministry through her work as a teacher from 2015-2019, her experience taking the Perspectives course in 2015, and her time as an English conversational partner with international students in 2017. He then connected her growing call to missions with her love for the people of Japan. She served as a summer intern in 2017 at CBI through Mission to the World, and was assessed and appointed as a short term missionary with Serge in 2018. She is so thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness to her, and that He would use her in His work in Japan.
