Jason McFarland

Over the last decade, many of Jason's friends have referred to him variously as "nomad," "vagabond," and "that guy who travels too much." And they're not far off, since he's called Ireland, the Netherlands, Israel, the Czech Republic, and--most recently--Germany home.

Before Jason put on his vagabond shoes, he was born in Arkansas five minutes after his sister, Christy. Along with his parents, twin, and younger brother, Jared, Jason traveled around quite a bit (see, he came by that naturally!) before settling in Memphis, Tennessee, to graduate from Rhodes College with a degree in art. A few more years and miles later, he took a degree from Dallas Seminary. While in seminary God put in Jason a desire to serve Him in an international context, which is what led Jason to Ireland, the Netherlands ... and so on and so forth.

In 2010 God planted Jason back in Memphis in a church plant, Christ City, and a freelance graphic design job that gave him the flexibility to serve the church. Five years later that work flexibility led Jason back overseas to explore what ministry could look like while working bivocationally in a cross-cultural context.

All of Jason's travel and bivocational work culminated in early 2016 with the conviction that God had been preparing his heart and vocation to land in a place where he could invest long term. Jason is excited to share God's love in Shepherd's Bush, London, where he can serve the church with both his relational and vocational gifts.
