Judy grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland Ohio and moved to Florida for college. While in college, Judy showed up at a church where the pastor shared the gospel and Judy responded. Years later, Judy first heard about "World Harvest Mission" (now Serge) when a missionary visited her church to share his call to Budapest, Hungary. She was so intrigued by his emphasis on gospel-centered living that she signed up for "Sonship by Phone," through which she came to a deeper understanding of the present value of the blood of Christ. This was over twenty years ago.
After retiring from a career in accounting and then working for several years in a part-time, private therapy practice, Judy began looking towards full retirement. Somehow, that just didn’t appeal to her as she wanted to be more intentional about how she spent the last third of her life. She noticed a posting on the Serge website for a ministry opportunity in London – a city she had grown to love through multiple short-term trips with college students. So she submitted a Serge "GO Form." Judy made a site vision to Southall, London, an area full of immigrants from India, Pakistan, and their surrounding countries. The team in Southall is all about building relationships, primarily working through the church, Asha charity shops, and various ministries to children and youth, as well as their parents. After an invitation from Serge to join the team in Southall, Judy is raising support to enable her to not only support the local church and the Southall team using her organizational skills, but more importantly, will give her the opportunity to engage with the community to reach British South Asians for Christ.
